Wood Bees, otherwise known as carpenter bees are very different from the traditional bees. When you picture a bee you see a flying insect that creates a hive up in a tree somewhere and produces honey. Carpenter bees are very different indeed. Instead of creating nests harmlessly way up in a tree they drill small holes into wood, and the wood they usually end up using for their home is the wood of your house. Yep that's right carpenter bees use their stinger as a digging device and drill out almost perfectly circular holes into any exposed wood on your home. This makes it very important to make sure you don't have exposed wood or you could deal with a cerpenter bee problem in the future. Since the carpenter bees drill into the wood to create their nest it can be very difficult to perform a bee hive removal. The hives can sometimes be very deep into the wood so locating them can be half the battle in itself. Once you have located the hive you should follow these tips to help you in removing a bee hive.

  • Go at the hive at night, bees are generally a lot less active at night so it will make your job a lot less difficulte. This will also assure you actually get the bee when you spray his nest with poison
  • You should wear some protective clothing, carpenter bees are not known for stinging people however a threatened bee a unpredictable. Never provoke bees if you know you are allergice to them
